If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I’ve recently become addicted to my green smoothies. I still like them in the winter, but I avoid them because it is much too cold.
I’ve been savouring the green smoothie goodness now that the weather has improved; they’re so soothing to enjoy in the spring sunlight. It was just yesterday that I was soaking up some vitamin D in the greenhouse while enjoying my green smoothie that I had created for my afternoon snack.
A banana and almond butter combination is my go-to green smoothie that I know will still taste delicious…
In my opinion, almond butter with everything is fantastic! Making a good green smoothie is an iterative process; sometimes it works, and sometimes, let’s be frank, it tastes bad. In most situations, I believe you can find what tastes better to you, and I’ve gotten pretty good at mixing a decent green smoothie to nourish my body and making me feel great.
I don’t know about you, but there are certain mornings or afternoons where I feel like an intravenous drip of caffeine is in order. This fruity green smoothie offers you an energy boost similar to a shot of caffeine. The zingy flavours of pineapple and mango are always refreshing, and it’s a great nourishing and green option to a caffeinated kick to start your day. It’s the ideal way to start every weekday because it’s filled with energy-boosting vitamin C.
Pineapple is not just a natural energy booster, but it’s also high in bromelain, an enzyme that aids digestion and prevents bloating. You know how much I preach about the importance of good fats, and this smoothie is chock-full of them…win! Avocado contributes a beautiful creaminess, and coconut oil adds a healthy pina colada twist.
My Nutribullet whipped together this energy-boosting green smoothie in a flash. The fresh gold and purple colours are valued at £99.99 and were unveiled in honour of Ideal World’s 15th birthday after group. Keep an eye out on the blog because I’ll be giving away one of these great kitchen gadgets shortly!
