Happy Sunday, hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! It’s been one of those weekends where I feeling like I’ve been constantly on the go.
Yesterday I went to the gym, cleaned the house from top to bottom, weeded the flower bed at the front of the house and started on the borders in the back garden, visited the garden centre to buy some bedding plants and put them in some pots.
I bought some pansies, violas, pinks, lavender and a cordyline to start with and they look so pretty. I did manage to sneak in a break at the garden centre though and enjoyed this ice cream in the sunshine before heading home.
I’ve blended like mad again this week, I think the warmer weather has sent my smoothie addiction into overdrive. This one was an apple, banana, cucumber, spinach and cashew nut concoction. I’m not sure really as I tend to just throw anything in them these days.
I drank this one straight from my Nutribullet flask, which I’m unashamedly going to admit because it saves on the washing up. You can still enter my Nutribullet giveaway here, there’s only one week left!
This avocado green smoothie was so thick and creamy that I had to eat it with a spoon. I love adding avocados to my smoothies for those healthy fats and how deliciously creamy they make them.
I had this bowl of full-fat Greek yoghurt with mango and my homemade superfood clusters and a green smoothie for breakfast yesterday. We’ve got loads of mango left over in the fridge because I bought it for my little man to try and he absolutely loves it with his Greek yoghurt.
This epic bowl of porridge was just awesome! It was quite an autumnal morning one day this week so I fancied a bowl of porridge made with banana and topped with blueberries, coconut, pumpkin seeds, goji berries and maple syrup.
Another delicious bowl of goodness came in the form of this yoghurt mess made from full-fat Greek yoghurt topped with early British strawberries, banana, mango, cashews and pumpkin seeds, so yummy!
I made this peach and black bean salad topper that also included red onion, red peppers, edamame beans, avocado and coriander for easy weekday lunches. I love having a big salad topper pre-made in the fridge so that I can just throw it on top of a pile of rocket leaves like this.
There was a random sized portion of the peach and black bean salad left that wasn’t quite large enough, so I mixed in some green lentils and feta and added a dollop of hummus and mixed salad leaves for another easy and scrummy lunch.
The fresh juices from Pret are just fab! This bottle was so refreshing after our long walk through the fields in the sunshine the other day. It has reminded me that I must dust off my juicer sometime soon.
I bought some rye bread this week because I really like the nutty taste. I had some topped with cream cheese, cucumber, Serrano ham and sun-dried tomatoes, which all worked well together.
I never knew that Prestat did bars of chocolate like this until I saw them on Ocado this week. I think this has to be my new favourite chocolate, it didn’t last very long at all…oops!
I’m not green-fingered in the slightest, but I would love to create a traditional English cottage garden at some point because I think they look beautiful and very natural. I can’t wait to get the garden all tidied and looking pretty for the long summer days and BBQ season ahead.
Are you green-fingered? What is your favourite type of flower?
